Quality Manager & Management Rep

Brief Description

Assures quality products and processes by establishing and enforcing quality standards; testing materials and product.

Job Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Establishes quality and reliability standards by studying product and consumer requirements with other members of management and with production operators
  • Establishes raw material standards by studying manufacturing and engineering requirements; conferring and negotiating with suppliers; devising testing methods and procedures
  • Establishes standards for the finished product be devising evaluation tests, methods, and procedures
  • Establishes rework standards be devising inspection and physical testing methods and procedures
  • Establishes product quality documentation system by writing and updating quality assurance procedures (ISO 9001 Certification)
  • Maintains product quality be enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures; collaborating with operations supervisors to develop manufacturing and training methods
  • Prepares product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
  • Prepares all necessary inspection reports for customer submissions (first article or PPAP)
  • Review customer complaints regarding quality and issue return authorizations
  • Lead for external customer audits and completion for any corrective action requests that may result
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
  • Management Representative for ISO
  • Responsible for NAFTA Tariff classification
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Maintain regular attendance
  • Completes all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
  • Follow all safety and work rules and regulations
  • Perform cleaning duties as assigned
  • Other job duties as assigned
  • Management Rep for all ISO audits, certifications and any dealings with ISO

Education requirements, certifications, work experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and three to five years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers
  • Ability to calculate figures, use a weight scale and ruler
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited or no standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Must be able to analyze information, perform reporting research results, have a technical understanding, promote process improvement, develop standards, manage processes, utilize manufacturing methods and procedures, deal with complexity and problem solving and use process improvement
